Albert is allergic to fur animals. When his friends at kindergarten have formed a pet owner's club, Albert is not allowed to join and it does not help that he buys fish as pets because it is not possible to hug fish.

Shortly after the end of the war Göran is forced to take care of his somewhat delirious grandfather who manages to confuse a couple of letters resulting in a mess of things.
